This picture deserves more attention! :0

I don't have a whole lot to offer, but the picture caught my eye.

RENDERING
Not bad at all! I think some parts of the figure don't turn form (appear three dimensional). The skirt and wings stood out as being flat. I think most of the problem can be attributed to a lack of contrast everywhere other than his skin. Sometimes it helps to copy the image and brightness/contrast or layers/curves it until the areas of contrast are way darker than you'd normally make them, and then compare that to the original image. You may find that the original image looks very 'gray' and dull in comparison, which can result from using too much gray to render - or simply from low saturation and low contrast.

Speaking of using too much gray - you may have in this picture. Again, the wings and the skirt are where this is the most obvious. I think maybe the shading on the wings is supposed to be a sort of gray-lavender (???), but it reads as gray.

I think the rainbow scales are really cool and convincing. It'd be even cooler if they reflected more light onto the rest of the figure.

ANATOMY
Very little to say here! His feet seem small (the average person's foot is going to be about the length of the forearm), his left arm feels a bit rubbery where it bends, and the way you've made the fingers on the left hand totally straight makes his hand look fake (???), sort of like an animatronic hand that doesn't have enough joints, or something.

Great job on his musculature, sans that mysterious wandering left nipple.

CHARACTER DESIGN
SUBJECTIVE RAMBLING AHEAD, EVEN MORESO THAN PRIOR SUBJECTIVE RAMBLING
I think there might be too much going on. I think it's okay for a demon to look like a rainbow! No problem. Wings, sure, okay. Tail, fine. Obviously the dude's gotta have horns. That's all well and good.

I think the issue is how these elements have been handled. Why is his costume brown? It is not a color that makes a lot of sense aesthetically, given the rest of his palette (white, black, even red or blue might have made more sense, with silver trim instead of gold). On top of this brown tunic-y thing, you have a black and green belt, reminiscent of The Matrix. I feel like this stuff doesn't go together.

Additionally, the design elements feel excessive. The feathers atop his wings seem arbitrary, as do the jeweled accents on his tail. His horns are designed in a way where it looks like he would have difficulty turning his head, or tucking his chin in against his chest. When you've got something that stands out as much as 'demon covered in rainbow scales', you might benefit from scaling back on other elements, so that one thing can shine through to impress the viewer. Again - it's a contrast issue, just of a different kind.

Some viewers may see your picture and think 'clutter' instead of 'dang man, that demon guy has rainbow scales, what an unusual palette for a demon!'. Nothing reads as 'remarkable' if EVERYTHING is 'remarkable'. It's a lot like how massive bodybuilder physiques are far less impressive in superhero comics, because even Joe Random on the street is built that way.

In character design, I think it's important to know what you want to convey most about your character, and follow through on that. The more iconic your design is, the more people will remember it. Elaborate is not diametrically opposed to iconic, but there is a correlation there. Elaborate designs are less likely to be iconic.

Anyway, overall, I think this is technically impressive. I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.

Cheers!
