It's a nice work , the way u used your brushes shows the pasion you'v put in this work, the gesture is very important into a drawing. Also you said: "I wanted to portray a very strict ...character with an imposing personality." i think you hit your goal with that look and the position of the lips . The colors you'v used don't help the characters kindness to show up but makes the character misteryous, you can't know if he is good or evil . The green eyes and the purple tints are a misture of mistery. As proportions his left eye is a little bigger then the right one, but it can't be noticed immediately, for the rest is fine.
